"EcoLog is more than a building kit. It is a two part concept - economical forest resources – backed by craftsmanship and professional expertise." EcoLog Home Concepts is part of the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve. This 'Reserve' of 60,000 acres is a certified "sustainable forest", as recognized by the International Stewardship Council (FSC). Over 80% of the Eastern Hemlock timbers that create our buildings are harvested and hauled, from the 'Forest', to our on-site sawmill. We work closely with our clients to provide the final professional drawings necessary for building and health permits. Our building kits include 8" squared wall timbers, pre-cut to design, and engineered 4"X10" heavy roof trusses. These unique roof trusses, spanning 24', cover the length of the building at 4' intervals, including a protective 4' overhang at each end. The results offer steep pitched rooflines, a spacious second floor/loft area, and high vaulted ceilings. Wall insulation, hardware, log chinking and hemlock boarding are also included in our kit. The square timbered wall logs and simple box-joint corners make our EcoLog Homes easy to erect and maintain.
